Fred on the Radio Today Saturday March 21, @ 12:30-1:00
WTCH 960 AM and WOWN 96.1 FM on the: "AL BOYD RADIO SHOW" This morning as I am leaving the hardware store, I run into my old buddy Al Boyd. He askes me were I'm headed? I say I'm headed home to use the bolts I purchased on my 59 Corvette project. He than asks if I could help HIM with a project. He tells me his guest for his radio show canceled and wanted me to go over to the radio station to be interviewed. He says I would be "perfect" with my varied background and interests. (Buy the way this is at 11:45 for a 12:30 LIVE show) I say OK and we head to the station which is across the street and just down the block. We have a short "sit-down" and outline a few topics as well as discuss my 36 years teaching at Shawano High School. He decides to introduce me as Freddy O' Beyer, as my birthday is on St. Paddys day, and I mentioned that I had considered driving this morning to "New Dublin" (New London WI) for the parade, etc. He than asked if I would recommend one of my friends who was a veteran, as he always dedicates his show to them. I told him of my good friend and mentor/inventor, Bruce Mohs USAF pilot, who recently passed away. He also dedicated Scott Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag" in his memory. We head to the recording studio, where Nick is the technician and cues us for the start of the program.....These are some of the topics I can remember we talked about:
