Sedan built by invertor Bruce Mohs. Beyer is a mover and a shaker because his program connects with kids who may have lost an interest in school. He makes science and math fun by teaching car-building skills. The students work on cars after school. No school or taxpayer funding is involved, and the hot rod owners pay for the parts. Rick Karcz, who had a yellow Model A surf woddie restored in Hot Rod High, says the experience was rewarding because the students took pride and ownership in their work. |
